Signs Of Anxiety Attack

Sign of anxiety attack

Anxiety attacks can come without warning especially if you've never suffered one before. You could just be standing there minding your own business and you may have various thoughts going on in your mind and suddenly you might start to feel a small wave of panic come over you. This could be followed by feeling like your face has gone flushed. Immediately your heart starts to beat a litte faster, then it seems to be beating louder as well.

You feel the waves of panic get stronger and then you start breaking out into a cold sweat. Then you can feel your heart racing and pounding out of your chest at the same time. You hear the thumping sound of your heartbeat in your ears and you are wondering if you might have a heart-attack, right there and then.

"Oh my God, is this 'it'?" you might ask yourself...you feel a little dizzy now and start looking for a place to sit away from where everyone is so you don't embarrass yourself any further.

You look a mess by now, your face is red and sweaty, your shirt is saturated with sweat and your palm of your hands are wringing wet too.

These are the all-too-familiar signs of an anxiety attack.

Finally your heart beat begins to return to normal and the thumping sound in your ears stops. The waves of panic recede and you feel like you are returning to normal once more.

"Whew! Thank God. What was that?" you say to yourself. You wonder if you should go and see a doctor about your heart.

Think life will return to normal again? It could do. But sadly as most anxiety attack suffers will testify to... this is like a bad horror film where the ghoulish main character just won't be killed and keeps getting up and coming at you again and again.

For most anxiety sufferers, that is the reality. Sad but true. But what is not sad, is that there are ways to eliminate these attacks without medication, without expensive therapy. Read more on this in my other posts.

Next time...what exactly IS happening to you when you have an anxiety attack or panic attack?
